Beautiful Princess Fiona! Found abandoned with a blue male (Russo) in a rental home after the tenants were evicted. The home owner allowed his renovation workers to keep the pair in the garage while their searched for someone to take the dogs. With less than 3 days before their deadline to be out, they contacted us! The part that is even more heartbreaking than the the blue-duo being left behind? Their "owner" took Fiona's puppies with them, probably too early since she was still producing milk.

As hard as it is to imagine someone abandoning such a sweet girl like this, we definitely got the good end of the deal. We are happy to call her a Buster Dog! You will fall in love within minutes, and melt with the cuddly, tender little kisses this girl offers. She knows how to win you over, that's for sure!

She's a little iffy about other dogs at first, but we think it's just nerves, and she could fit fine with a well matched male buddy. After all, she and Russo were best buds.

Now the bad news to come out of this otherwise happy ending -- Fiona came up heartworm positive at her vet visit (probably the first visit she's had in a LONG time). She has began treatment, and is doing well. She needs to lose a few pounds of "baby weight" and stay on a restricted activity schedule, but her outlook is very good for a full, healthy life. She will be good as new when it's all over, and of course will be spayed... no more puppies for this girl, it's bad for her figure!

We are happy to take an application from anyone interested in Fiona, as long as prospective adopters understand it may be a little while before she can go home (or at least for the adoption to be finalized). We want to see her through the full treatment to make sure she is as happy and healthy as she so deserves to be!
