Lexie is a beautiful dark brown color that almost looks purple, with white patches in just the right places. (Some have referred to this color as "seal".) And if her color alone weren't enough to make this girl a looker, her perfectly proportioned, lean physique makes her that much more amazing to look at.
Quiet and calm as a mouse when crated, Lexie is a bounding, graceful deer when outside for play time. She literally gallops around the yard as though each moment is any opportunity to show off and perform for whomever might be watching! She loves chasing toys, exploring the yard, and she will make someone an absolutely superb running partner.
Lexie also loves the water and has tried out dock diving before with great success. She is most definitely a dog who will excel at anything like diving, agility, and other physical activities demanding coordination and control. But keep in mind, this gal can jump! And leaving her unattended in a yard with anything less than a 10 foot fence isn't realistic. But as long as you're around to keep her company, she's rarely interested in going anywhere else!
Lexie is generally great with most other dogs and plays regularly with foster siblings. But she does need supervision and guidance. We found her living by herself in a garage with an open bag of dog food and we think her socialization with other dogs came pretty late in life. But given such a rocky start, we're amazed that Lexie is as wonderful as she is. Again, we just can't believe she hasn't found her perfect home yet. Because she really is that perfect dog for whomever thinks they might be able to keep up with her!
