UPDATE 4/29/07
Sad news for our Buster girl, Itsy Bitsy Betsy. The very day she turned one, April 23rd, we received confirmation that Betsy has lymphoma. Just days before her birthday we had an abdominal mass removed and our worst fears have become reality. We are saddened that our precious girl is now in for the fight of her life.

With next to no funds to cover even conservative treatment for Betsy, her foster parents Nick and Julia (with permission from their place of employment) have begun collecting donations to help cover Betsy's medical costs. We are trying to raise enough money to have Betsy begin chemotherapy as soon as possible.

If at any time Betsy stops being the happy, energetic, loving girl that she is we will cease her treatment and make her as comfortable as we can, until she lets us know that she's had enough. Any remaining donations for Betsy will continue to work on her behalf by providing comfort, care and medical and re-homing costs for our other Buster Foundation dogs and any newcomers that make their way to us.

Heartfelt thanks to Arbor Dog Daycare in Ann Arbor Michigan and their wonderful clients who have already made donations and pledges for Betsy. Special thank you's to Jon and Margaret Svobota for helping to make this possible by accepting donations for Betsy at their facility. Love and gratitude go out to Nick and Julia for all the hard work they have done that has helped to make Betsy one terrific pit bull. The devotion and love they have given her will never be forgotten. Betsy continues to greet everyone at Arbor Dog Daycare as she's pretty much been a constant there since she's been with Nick and Julia.

Betsy is a pretty white with light tan patches and hazel eyes. Born approximately 4/23/06, she still has some growing to do. She will probably get up to 45 to 50 lbs. when full grown. Betsy is an absolute "water dog"! She LOVES to jump into the water where we go to dock dive, and she retrieves anything that you throw in for her. She also has become quite the character with the garden hose. She knows how to "squeeze" the nozzle and "squirt" all of us including all her foster siblings that are within reach. We all scatter when Betsy has a hold of the hose! She is no doubt a natural where water fun is concerned. Betsy is crate trained and is housebroken. She is great with her foster siblings and loves her car rides! Special thanks to her foster mom and dad Nick and Julia who have opened up their heart and an already busy dog household. Betsy also goes to doggy daycare daily so she is a well rounded girl around other dogs (her foster mom and dad help to run a day care center for canines).
