We need a foster home for Coltrane!

Get ready for one cool, blue dude that does his namesake true justice!  If Coltrane had thumbs, he'd probably play saxophone too.  One of our older dogs (~ 7-8 yrs. old), Coltrane is an ambassador to his breed.  He is a relaxed, easy-going guy who gets along with most dogs he meets, walks nicely on leash, and even serves as the occasional nanny dog to some of our rescue puppies!

This sweet guy has had a run of bad luck.  First he found a loving home with a U.S. Marine who was deployed to Iraq, and so he came back to us in 2007.  Then he went to a new home for a while, but just recently lost that home and family too because his adoptive mom sadly lost her home and her job.  And now we are once again looking for the right forever home for our happy, beautiful, smokey-blue boy.  Hopefully 3rd times the charm!

Lately, Coltrane seems to enjoy climbing up into the upper deck of the play set to hang out or goof off with his foster sister, Lila.  He also likes to hide behind the downed tree in the backyard and camouflage himself in the wood chips.  In general, Cole is the perfect blend of playful dog with relaxed, easy-going guy.  And he is fabulous to walk on leash!  No pulling, tugging, or dragging you down the road here.  If you're looking for an enjoyable, easy stroll, Cole will happily make that happen for you.

Coltrane is great with people and dogs of all ages, but unfortunately cats are a BIG no no for this guy!  Too much of the prey drive in this otherwise super sweet and calm boy.  We think he'd be wonderful as an only dog or a great match for a home with other dog pals.
