WE ONLY HAVE TEMPORARY FOSTER FOR MISSY! WE NEED A PERMANENT FOSTER ASAP!

Missy Lou... who are you?? Found running down the road a few days before Thanksgiving, a little dirty and wearing only a pink harness -- no collar, tags, or microchip -- she hopped right into her rescuer's car. Those who were caring for her spent a week posting "found" ads, searching through lost dog ads, contacting every local vet, animal control, and even the police hoping that someone had claimed this lovely little girl as lost... but it seems no one is looking for her. Not even a "Have you seen me?" poster up in the neighborhood. Though it seems she has been abandoned, her spirits are not down! Check back for more details as we get to know her better!!!

UPDATE 12/01 --

After only 2 days in her temporary foster home, Missy is doing very well with her two foster siblings, and even had her first confrontation with the cat! Now this cat is well used to dogs, and will NOT put up with any nonsense... after a perfectly placed swat to the nose, Missy now knows that the cat is not a toy and stays well clear! She is doing well in her crate and with her basic commands. At the vet today she was terrified by a charging chihuahua that came at her like it was going to eat her, and she laid calmly, but curiously, next to a crate with another small dog, a little unsure but trying to make friends. For the Doc she took treats nicely and sat still while he drew blood, giving plenty of kisses before and afterwards. She is one polite little lady!

Missy has also made her way into hearts with how much she loves to snuggle.  If there is a blanket or a comfortable spot next to you on the couch, chances are she isn't far!!  Missy loves some adult tug-o-war playtime with her new rope and is EASILY distracted by anything with a squeaker! She is very good at entertaining herself with a few other select toys as well.  She is fabulous in the car and also does well on her leash.  After a long day of play and snuggle time, Missy easily retires to her crate for bedtime and quiet time.

She was quite reserved when she first came to us, but has quickly become very comfortable.  With the hustle and bustle of the holidays she has been very busy helping the family decorate for Christmas and is just amazing with all the visitors that come and see her!  Within minutes of meeting this doll-face, you are bound to fall in love.  We are also pretty sure this goof-ball will do ANYTHING for a laugh!!  Missy Lou certainly has a lot of love (and doggy kisses) to give anyone that is willing to give this beauty a chance... her endearing head tilt is the sweetest thing to see!  It's as though she hangs on every word you say!
