Update 1/2

Ritas' foot has healed with no problems.  Thank goodnes that she was so fantastic with the splint and her e-collar.  She shold have no problems long term.

Rita is getting along great with some new temporary foster buddies, the energetic vizsla and mellow pittie.  She is so smart, learning new training so fast its as if she is doing homework ahead of time.  This sweet yet playful girl will make an amazing companion for both humans and other dogs.  Rita was curious about the cats, but responded well when told to leave them and was easily re-directed.  This puppy deserves a loving home, she has so much to give. She is happy to chew a bone by herself, play with the other dogs, or crash out on your lap, the perfect mix.

Updated 10/30 --

Ms. Rita is one of two new girls to Buster this week, and wow is she a sweet girl!! This adorable little princess does extremely well with the other dogs, being a cute playful pup, but not pestering them too much.  Rita is extremely attentive and has made quite an impression, especially on me!  She LOVES her toys - balls, ropes, squeakies - you name it! She also does fantastic in her crate, not crying or making a fuss. She is well on her way to being potty trained already too!

You may have noticed the slightly obvious giant blue splint in Rita's pictures. She has a few minor fractures in her foot/toes.  Nothing that the DVM that saved her feels should need any surgical correction.  Most probably it will heal on its own. And let us tell you... it does nothing  to slow her down!  Rita also has a baby foster sister that is making it rough to keep her activity level down.  She thinks she's just fine. So her "available" date is set just a couple weeks from now... just so we can get another x-ray of her leg and make sure everything is as it should be before she goes to her new home.

Thanks to Dr. Heather Robertson and the fantastic staff of the Animal Emergency Center in Novi for stepping up to help this beautiful bully baby!  We're honored that they think enough of Buster to  have contacted us about taking this sweet girl in.

We'll update her progress as we get to know her better.  Whoever finds their way to this doll baby will be getting a true gem of a companion.  She's an excellent puppy who's full of the funnies!
