Hi, I'm Holly and I've been in foster care since around Christmas (that's where I get my name).  I am one really special girl - you can read my sad story below - but things are really great for me now! I like my foster siblings a bunch, even though I can get a little worked up running around with a bunch of big dogs.

My ideal home would be with a similar sized or smaller male dog, and I do GREAT with kids, and even like cats! Overall, I am really a mellow girl, calm and loving. I am just as happy on your lap as I am on my dog bed. I like going to adoption showcases, and LOVE car rides.  When the time is right, I do love to play, and if I ever get too excited, I will gladly obey corrections. My favorite things are Kongs stuffed with treats and any sized ball to play with in the yard!

I'm a good girl in my crate, and like to get covered with a blankie at night. I am completely house-trained and walk really nicely on a leash (best with a choke collar). I know the commands Sit, Down, and "Pound It" which is like high-five but WAY cooler. I would love to learn even more with my new family.....

Right now I'm looking for a new house of my own so my foster family can help another dog. Because this is sure a great place to be! I have lots of good memories now.

HOLLY'S STORY- Holly was finally trapped after five weeks of running loose in our township. No doubt a cast off of yet another ignorant and irresponsible owner. Enduring bitter cold, rain and snow Holly was forced to find shelter and food wherever she was able to.

This sweet soul touched the heart of a wonderful woman who continued for several weeks to try to coax her into a makeshift crate/carrier lined with fresh hay and food - thanks to her perserverance she finally succeeded. Thank God for Elaine! I have no doubt Holly would not have survived much longer in her condition.

Unfortunately Holly and I spent our Christmas watching and waiting for her to finish delivering her eleven still-born puppies, carefully removing them and tenderly covering their tiny little souls to ready them for disposal. Tearfully I cleaned up after Holly each time another lifeless form appeared, thinking to myself, "Merry Christmas". I now have another "pitty" story to add to my memoirs.

Needless to say we at Buster have stepped up and have gotten Holly the best care in the world - Thanks to Dr. Marilyn and her fantastic staff at St. Francis Animal Hospital. They rolled up their sleeves once again and will be caring for Holly for a bit while we pursue a foster - or better yet a forever home for her.

Special thanks to Officer Bob Queener for caring for Hollie while we transitioned her to the hospital!

If you are interested in adopting Holly, please first read our adoption policy and complete an application.

These are found on this website, under the tab “Animals”, then “Adoption Info”.

Too often we have had people set up appointments for a meet and greet only to be no-shows. All our dogs are in foster homes, and we at Buster appreciate that our foster families' and volunteers' time is precious, therefore we will not set up meet and greets without first receiving a completed application.

We trust you understand and respect our decision to enforce this policy.
